Casey Natale Maltese is a software engineer with Miami-Dade County Public Schools in Miami, Florida, USA. Originally from Texas, Casey also spent her childhood in New Jersey and South Carolina where she played soccer and participated in dance. At the age of 11 she started to explore music and began studying the French horn. This new endeavor opened a world of opportunities in which she eagerly took advantage, and ultimately led to scholarships to study music performance at the Florida State University and the University of Miami. Upon completion of her education, Casey maintained a career as an educator and freelance French horn player in South Florida; however, during this time Casey discovered the art of web development. She began to cultivate her web development skills and quickly noticed the similar qualities required of web developers and musicians such as patience, organizational finesse, time-management ability, critical thinking prowess, adaptability, and creativity. Casey enjoyed coding so much that she decided to pursue it seriously, and she recently earned a coding boot camp certificate in JavaScript Full Stack Web Development from the University of Miami. This accomplishment led her to current professional role, and she is looking forward to what the future can bring.
When she is not coding or studying, you can find Casey playing her French horn, teaching music, running, cooking, exploring the outdoors, reading, or trying to grow peppers on her patio.
